This student was a little girl when I met her in 2007 and it was wonderful to follow her journey. At school she supervised the little students and learned quickly herself. She is wonderful at cooking and tailoring. She loved sewing classes for the girls, learning to use the treadle sewing machines.

She graduated from the 10th grade and then went straight into an apprenticeship to become a seamstress. She learned to draw models, make patterns and cut fabrics during her training. Her training was funded by a sponsor.

I had myself measured by Pooja in 2019, to the delight of all the students. She sewed me a wonderful linen dress. My order was her first order. It is funny to be measured by a young woman who was our student for years.
